I went out deer hunting this morning and heard a bull bugle down in the bottom of the drainage I was in, I couldn't resist the chance to go play. I dropped in and had this guy screaming and tearing up trees. He's a nice 5x, came into 40yds. I played with him for about 30min, watching his behavior and seeing what call sounds got him going etc, before I backed out to leave him be. As I walked back to my truck he kept on screaming.....Definitely pumped for Tuesdays opener.
I normally wouldn't try to educate a bull before season but where he was is very rare for an elk to be, so I took the opportunity to have some fun.
