Tuna and Salmon - what a mix
« on: September 01, 2013, 10:17:59 PM »
We'll we hit it hard for three days, going to feel it in the morning....  Robodad finally got to get some rest!!!!!  Great day first off with Mark Coleman fishing charter out of Westport, although we were not with Mark, but with Darrell - who did a excellent job!!!  Then off we went to Sekui to battle some fishies.  35 the first day and 50 this morning before 1:00pm...  Mostly Pinks, but the guys had a great time catching and reeling, as they don't get the opportunity to go too much...  Limits of pinks went home with them for the barbeque...  Yuck!  But they wanted to keep them.  Limits of silvers went my way...  Yummy!!

That's quite a haul.  Talk about racking & stacking 'em!   How far out did you go for the tuna?

I want to say somewhere around 40 plus, but not really sure we even asked the question as it is out of my boats range - for the time being that is!!!!  It was super crappy right off the bat, but laid down very quickly and was totally flat and calm by 0900hrs...  I am hooked on Tuna.  They are awesome fish for sure, shouldn't be that much fun while fishing...

That's a ways out there.  I have enough gas in my boat to get there.  I would just have to figure out how to get back!   :chuckle:

Great catch guys ..... I myself I'm getting ready for this weekends tuna trip .Hopefully we had timed it right (talking about lunar phases now  :yike:) .
I think we all will have to switch to tuna since salmon is getting hard to fish for because of the closures and release requirements ..... I just looked at the regs yesterday what is open and boy was I surprised that most areas were down for Chinook retention ....I can't even fish for pinks on Puke today because is closed  :bash: well.....it looks like you guys had a good trip
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?
