which boot?
« on: September 02, 2013, 07:46:40 PM »
Finally talked the wife into letting me get some new boots.I was thinking either the Mendel dental is or the Mendel perfekt. What are your thoughts? If it helps I'll use them mostly deer hunting with probably a week of elk hunting thrown in there some where.

I have the perfect    Remember to save the insole spacers if you get them. After the cork beds mold to your feet you put the spacer under the foot bed.

I like the boot

I have Perfect Hunters and they are the best boots I have ever worn. I have had them for 3 years with tons of miles on them and plan on getting at least another year out of them. Worth every penny. :twocents:

I just got the perfekts, have about 7 miles on them and I could not be happier, they really don't NEED it, but get a tube of Nikwax and coat them up and they become damn near invincible to anything, plus its turns them a deep dark satin shade. awesome.

I'm on my second pair of Denali's and really like them. But not sure what seasons your hunting so may want something insulated?

The Danner factory in Portland sells seconds. I have found several pair of nice boots for about 50-60% off. Usually just a slight imperfection in a section of stitching.

Cabelas Meindl boots all the way. Sold all my danners and bought 3 pairs of the meindl boots. Ebay can have some great deals.

Kenetreks here... all the way
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Danner Pronghorn. All leather. Great boot for the price. Strong and durable, yet light on the foot.

Thanks for the reply guys. I think I'm going to go with the perfekts. I would love to go with the kenetreks but those are out of my budget, for now at least.
