Been brought up in several earlier threads but they're out all day.  Find the berry patches

Just remember that it may take a while for him to show up.  You may have to move to another spot after an hour to 2 hours of calling.

It's not even always that it takes a while for me to show up. Often times they are there just can't see them in the thick bushes. Most berry patches I hunt are 3-4ft high.

I agree with the idea that they are always out and about even if you don't see them. Last year I got a bear early in the morning on wild blueberries. This last Friday I got a bear at almost 6 in the evening on blackberries. "They are where you find them"
Good luck!

Find Blueberries or Oregon grapes and you have a good chance of finding bear ....At this time of year I would hunt all day if needed to be ...lots of glassing and waiting ...bear will feed until they are full and then after a little nap they will be back at it in no time  If your hunting the wetside ...never seen Oregon Grapes on the eastside  :chuckle:

Short of having hounds, or spooking one into a tree... there isn't really a good tip on Cougars... Bobcats are a lil easier, Cougs are smart, and stealthy!
