It "should" not affect those that breed working dogs.

The ambiguity is the problem. What defines a working dog? Is a hunting dog that is also a pet not a working dog? If a breeder sells a dog to a non-hunting home does that open them up to being classified as breeder of non-working dogs?

And what about the four breeding females rule?

Anything that Wayne Pacelle of HSUS supports you should be very wary of.

The UKC put this out today...

My guess it's to help have recourse for those puppy mills operating in unincorporated areas that don't have any local jurisdiction. Gives them another bullet in their gun if needed to shut down an operation.

I agree and trust me I am no fan of HSUS or Peta. My point is, that it should not affect "bird dog breeders" because YES those are working/hunting dogs. Sooo.........while you can't control what someone does with his or her dog, they are sold as "working dogs".....

Now I totally agree that this is not a step in the right direction. I am just saying, FOR NOW, "we" (hunting dog breeders) are exempt.
