I heard a bit more information about this, second hand, the other day...

Seems the archery hunter had this elk on game cam, for months.  Archery hunter knew where the elk was coming down and was set up to take the shot.  Archery hunter was watching the elk, waiting for the perfect shot, ready to come to full draw, when he heard BOOM and the elk dropped.  Archery hunter hunkered down and watched a young man make his way to the elk.  Young man got to elk and then called "dad" on his cell.  Asked dad to hurry up and get up there to help him get the elk out, before he got caught.

Archery hunter called game warden and explained exactly where they were located.  Game warden said, "I'm on the way!"

I also heard that the kid was given an extra charge, or a larger fine, due to the trophy size!  Glad he got caught!  Hope he AND his dad both get a couple books tossed at them!  Being in Pend Oreille County, knowing most of the judges, (actually being on the bad side of a couple in my young past), I'd imagine neither will try something like this again!!

THat is jsut a sad thing!  I really hope they get the book thrown at them!  They deserve to lose hunting rights and a huge fine not to mention losing the gun and truck!

Wow  :nono:  That really sucks for the archery hunter that put in a ton of work just to have his would be trophy Poached right in front of him
I under stand the legal hunter will most likely get ten points, but in that situation I would rather of had the 6x6 I worked my but off for.

well two less poachers for now is what matters and yes sucks for the archery hunter. 10 pts dont put meat in the freezer and antlers on the wall.

Good 2 hear that the bad guys get caught once in a while. I hope the archer, with those extra points, draws a quality permit and shoots a huge bull next year.
