 :yeah:.

 :yeah:

My elk hit the dirt after 40 yards and 8 seconds.  He couldn't tote the heart shot.  I also saw many others with similar results.  I think the bad stories are the only ones being told.

:yeah: Our camp had 5 elk down in 5 days. Best early season we have ever had! A lot of people are successful that don't share their stories. Sometimes I'm one of them. And like what was said before the guys that have wounded an animal are turning to the forum to get some help and tips from members. Negative comments are unacceptable in my opinion.

Due to fire closures we had a difficult time getting into our usual areas that we know very well. Like Camodup we're usually close to 50% success rate in our camp in the first couple of days. This year we only hit 25%...........it was tough hunting...but we can all look forward to the late season where we usually bring our rate up to around 75% or so.......

Had to come home due to food poisoning Tuesday, just now getting on my feet.  I would say this has been a messed up elk season.

He's saying that anti-hunters could have bought the tags and not hunted to protect the elk.

Only thing messed up in our parts has been how long it's taken for the bulls to start talking!  Just the last few days of the season they've seemed vocal.  Guys I know were 2 for 4 on bulls, the other two passed plenty of shots on cows holding for bulls, but no dice.  Still have the late season for cows though.
