My Mulie
«

Got this one in Davenport, I was riding down a trial when a Doe jumps to the middle of the trial in front of me about 45yrds, she looked my way then looked up at this hill to my right then takes off. I glanced up at the hill and just spotted the buck making his way up the hill through the sage brush, he stops and its looking down at me, by then ,I had jumped out of the quad and had my rifle cocked and ready, checked him out with my binos and I can see he had some very big tines he then proceeded to head up through the brush with his head semi down, he finaly stuck his head out of the brush and gave me a head neck shot at around 150yrds. I put my cross behind his head and fired, he drops on the spot, bullet went through the back of his left ear and exited out his right ear. Jerky and steaks are on its way.

Well done Cruzer, that buck looks to have the genome that would keep him from ever being a 4 point. Congrats on a awsome buck and way to go taking out a mature super forkie!!!

3 point min........?
Nice buck, but I would have struggled pulling the trigger with those small eye guards. Is one of them at least an inch?

Nice deer! Maybe it got to be that big because it is only a 2 point? I would not have shot as those eye guards are questionable at best. We passed up 5 bucks this year with small eyeguards and wanted to be safe rather than sorry.

I debated on this one for about 15min before pulling the trigger. Good thing he was laying down and almost asleep.

Yeah would hate to have been checked with that one. Had a close friend down here get nailed for almost a duplicate of that. Took his gun and truck. He got his truck back.

1st thing we did was measure the eye guards. One was 1.5" long, the other 1.25" long. I compared the eyeball to the eye guards. I figure the eye ball is about 1" or so. Turns out this deer was 4.5yrs old. Apparently he didn't have the genetics to grow anything bigger.
