Monster Colville Non-Typical Elk
« on: October 27, 2008, 10:28:10 PM »
Sorry for the tease guys but no pics yet. While moose hunting this weekend we stopped in at a local corner mart for a couple morning drinks before hitting the hills. Dressed in camo the gal at the counter was curious what we were hunting for, I told her moose. She said good luck and told me her son-in-law had taken a nice bull elk during archery season and proceeded to show me the pic. :yike: What a monster for the area. It was palmated around the G5's and had multipul extra points, not too bad for an area not known for big elk. I wrote down the site address and asked her to have him post the pic and say hello, lets hope he does it!!!

I stopped by and talked to the lady who's son in law got the elk.  She didn't have the picture with her today, she said she would tomorrow morning so I will try to get a copy and post it.

She said it was a 9x11 or 9x12 and should break the state archery record easily!

Yeah I saw the pic and it's a hog for sure but I thought Thorpe's bull was scored as a non typical? if so it wont beat that but it's big!

Yes Thorpes is scored non typ at 421 and change, if its bigger than that it is a hog! I beleive thorps grossed like 434. Its also entered as typical at 392.
