« on: September 10, 2013, 01:13:51 AM »
I spoke with a local hiker while elk hunting in ID a couple days ago. He told me that IDFG was just east of where I was hunting looking into some wolves that were killed by a rancher.. I couldnt find any info on it

Didn't wolf season open Sept. 1st?  He just needed some tags. Maybe that is why fish and game was checking it out, no tags?

Sounded like livestock were being harassed or possibly killed

Worley is on the CDA rez so shouldn't that be tribal police jurisdiction?  Maybe IDFG is assisting the investigation.  One of the wolves might have been collared and IDFG is helping out with their telemetry gear to find out more.

:yeah: Worley is also near alot of areas that have confirmed wolf sightings and kills. What are the limit on wolves now, isnt it 2?

I spoke to one of the two wolf trappers at the Calder Bar & Grill who also lives in Calder.  He is geared up for a good season.  He also expressed he believes the wolves may be getting wiser to trapping as it is becoming more difficult to successfully trap them.  He is a interesting, passionate, and good fella.  Let me just say if I stuck around I was not going to let him take out his wallet for a beer.  But I was in and out just came down for a couple things and ice.
It's a TIKKA thing..., you may not understand.
