Not totally accurate....the more seasoned cougers may be conditioned to the classic bait....the cosmo. It is an old standby and should not be tossed out.

How long does Cosmo work as an effective bait until it "spoils"?

Does the magazine need to be less than two weeks old to be effective?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Valid question....in my trapping days I never saw a cosmo that even got the chance to get warm and turn. Usually, when stalking their own prey, cougers are known as "gulp and go", very aggresive and once they get a taste for tender vittles they take bait very redily.
