Ok so I did some research and it looks like any maintained(gated) areas will be closed but any I maintained areas will still be open for access.

Here is my question. Is lake Rapjohn and Kapowsin both gated? I know Rapjohn is. But not sure about Kapowsin. Time to find some private land to duck hunt!

Was working on the road by the millet ponds by wallula and the Feds were kicking fisherman out. I asked them how they could close public land and they said because it's ran by the government. They both thought the whole thing was bs and they told me they were working for free today.

What people are missing and should be asking.   What in the world is the Federal government doing owning all this land and when did it get this big and out of control?

Really?  You're asking this question?  Without it the lands would be either locked up under private ownership or owned by state government.  What would our country be without our National Parks or Historic Monuments?  Have you ever been to Yosemite, Yellowstone, or the Vietnam Memorial Wall?  On that note have you ever driven on an interstate highway - they're all built by our Government for our benefit and protection.

Being an avid outdoorsman and coming from a poor blue collar family - I cherish public lands.  I see folks out there who easily have more money wrapped up in thier motor homes and boats than I do in my house that im buying.  Ironic that the rich enjoy public lands too.  Good thing thier not locked up under private ownership.  Public lands provide therapuetic medicine to everyone.  Private sector can't and wont do that.

Looks like opening of Ridgefield will be delayed, even if the shutdown ends Thursday or Friday.
