Pretty nice Whitetail buck

Had givin thought to going out for a while yesterday but it was raining like a cow peein on a flat rock and with our elk trip just days away I decided getting soaked and possibly catching a cold I'd just wait. Had to go to town when I spotted 3 bucks on the road , 2 small spikes and a nice 4x4. They hoped a fence and I stopped and got out . Had the camera so even though I didn't have the Hawkins and he was on private land that I don't have permission to hunt I was able to shoot the Kodak  Maybe in the late season he'll show himself again. Last 2 pics he's maybe 30 yards.

Id almost bet that guys still got his milk teeth........Id be shocked if hes going to be 2 1/2 in nov.  Id sure like to see him in another 3 or 4 years............

Nice pictures! Davenport area is beautiful, but also very open. I'd doubt that buck makes it through hunting season.

I'm not very good at "Catch and release" on anything, if the state says it's legal I'm putting it in the freezer so had I been hunting I would have popped a cap on him.

It's tuff enough as it is just to figure out what is legal or not sometimes ( does he have 3 on oneside or is that 3rd point long enough or in elk is that other point less then 4 inches above the skull). I get pretty confused why only spikes on elk and 3 point or better on deer? I hear it's because they want the big bulls for breeding so why do they let us shoot the big breeding bucks? We already have a problem with the mule deer around here never getting more then a 2x2 and that is why they went to a permit drawing for 2x2 muleys to try and take some of them out of the gene pool.

Some say let that whitetail grow or give him a few more years. I know for a fact that I wouldn't pass on a spike elk cause he's only a year and a half old? If it's legal I'm going to try and put meat on the ground.

I got several pictures of this muley buck over a couple of years and because of his body size he was easy to identify. He does have a 3rd point but with out optics it would be hard to see then the question would be is it long enough?

the mule would be legal without the crab claw..........eye guards get counted if over an inch.

I can't quite figure out how to blow this up but zoom in and tell me you really think these eyeguards are over an inch??? Not me If they're a 1/2 inch I'd be surprised    I'm sure the crab would make him legal but without the zoom of the camera and lookin thru open sight I don't think you'd even see it/??

And somebody with a 2x2 tag would be busted because of the little crab claw  point that you might not see???

I blew the picture up, and the EG on the right antler really could be an 1" long the one on the left is a nub but with a tape measure it could be close... anyway that is what I see
