winthrop deer hunt
« on: October 06, 2013, 09:31:52 AM »
it was a good hunt for us. we were able to fill 5 tags. they were all does. its ok. we had two young boys and it was their first time bow hunting for deer. they did a great job. it was my wife's first mule deer with a bow. they are bow hunters for life.

Congrats to all your party and an extra shout out for the first timers  I took a nice doe out of that area along with three more in our party also connecting in the last week of the season. Mine sure is tasty :EAT: one of the best I have ever tasted out of many in that area over the years. What was the fat ratio like on those that you all got? All 4 we got were very lean almost no fat :o I've been curious about what people have been seeing on their deer because in the past they usually have noticeably more on them this time of year. I just pray we don't have a big winter kill like back in 94 & 95 along with wolf activity and what looks like a nasty winter on the way. :yike: Well once again great job to all of you...keep them boys in the woods.
