It took 687 rounds, but I finally broke something on my 338/375 Striker.
While out testing new loads, I had a shot land 3" out of the group at 100 yards. That was a red flag because this gun has always shot .75 MOA or better with pretty much every load I've tried. I gave the case a once over looking for pressure signs thinking maybe something was wrong with the load. Finally gave up and called it shooter error (it has happened once or twice

)
Went to fire another round, missed the target completely, and felt something hit my shoulder. Now I stopped, emptied the gun and started to take the whole thing apart. I thought that I must have really screwed up and broke something. I had taken the gun out of the stock and was about to pull the scope off when I saw this.

The windage screw on the right hand side of the base had broke. I've never seen anything like this! The recoil on this pistol isn't that harsh so I was surprised to see this happen. I guess it just took a beating after hundreds of heavy loads.

Now I need to come up with a stronger ring/base setup. I'm just a little bummed because I wanted to run this pistol for deer season. Now I'll have to fall back on the 284 Win Striker.
