Torn between Hoyt spider turbo and pse omen max.
« on: October 07, 2013, 10:19:05 AM »
I have pse now but want to upgrade to a Hoyt but hear a lot about the limbs splintering? I also feel the pull towards the omen max with the speed it has. Any thoughts?

Well I had a 2013 Spyder 30 and I got tell you it is awesome. It is faster than they advertise which is rare. I was holding nice groups out to 80 yards with it. THe best part was the new RKT cam. The draw was very smooth. Normally you don't get a very smooth draw with really fast speeds. Its obviously not the fastest bow on the market but it is plenty fast enough and the draw is butter!

Just my  :twocents:

whoever told you about limbs splintering is full of B/S hoyt hands down makes the best limbs on the market.  I've owned 7 or 8 different hoyts in the last ten years and not a single bad limb on any of them.  You want bad limbs buy the PSE or better yet a bowtech :twocents:

That's good to hear! I really want a Hoyt. Just scares you when you step up and spend that kind of money and hear mixed stuff. But I trust all you guys.

Lot of good bows............I know for a fact you can spend less and get a great bow......I went with Hoyt for many reasons...one of them being the proshop is right by work and I know they will take care of me..........so I bought the Hoyt/Pro Shop combination.

good stuff guys thanks for all the input! I will be going with the Hoyt. Is there any big advantage with the carbon element besides weight?

Look at the specs...carbon element is ounces lighter....400$ difference. ...not worth it....to me st least.

same cams, same limbs, same draw, same speed, not worth the extra money x2. But great bow

My cousin bought the Omen two years ago and it is a crazy fast and powerful bow but he said the cams are not very smooth drawing and the bow is a little heavier than he cares for. Not sure how the omen max differs from the regular omen though.

:yeah:  I'm far from an expert but if I was spending that much money, I'd want to shoot them both quite a bit and decide that way  :twocents:
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
