Well this will be the first year in 5 years I've put on orange, planning on hunting the Nile for modern elk since I drew multi season tags. Was curious how packed is the Lindsey camp area? I only hunted the Nile for late season archery in the past.

I have hunted all the way up past Lindsey camp, even in 2+ feet of snow. Just drove the Barbie jeep up there  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Oh and I do see elk up there in the deep snow.

I was in there for archery this year. First time I have hunted that unit and there is some great country in there. I tried like heck to bump into someone with a bull tag as we had a masher 5x5 that was all webbed up locked down. No one had one that I met. I was also surprised how many people there were way in off the road. I am use to getting a couple miles back in and not seeing anyone. Heck we were running into other people 5+ miles back from the roads. Good luck on the hunt guys.

I don't think you could get to Lindsey Camp the last two years. Two years ago - no for sure but the elk were below there anyhow. Last year I could get a bit higher and found elk but most were coming down. Modern season if the snow holds off, you'll be able to get most any place you want with chains but remember the rain this year in early archery washed out some of those rds.

I would take that bet....

I have been up there every year for the last 3 years. Seen and chased elk but the deep snow it was impossibel to get close enough. the closes we got was about 80 yards  :bash:

Here is a pic from just below Little Bald MT.
