Tailgate window on truck canopy

 My truck Dodge Ram 1500 canopy's tailgate rear window broke during the ice/ heavy snow we had. I need to put it back on the truck for camping/hunting. What can I do to replace it cheaply? Hubby was think of plywood or heavy gauge plastic sheeting. I was thinking of plexi-glass but how to cut the angles without it cracking?

plex works you can cut it with a jig saw and a fine blade or skillsaw . make a cardboard pattern and lay it out , use masking tape on the plex to trace onto then cut through the tape.

I have to try and get hubby to buy a big sheet but it's not that cheap. Just worried it will crack while cutting it. Glass would be over $150.00.

2nd on the tape.  If you dont use the tape not only can it crack but you will get plastered with small bits of plexiglass   learned that the hard way when I had to replace some windows on my shed.

If it is flat glass, with a template, I could get you the glass for around $50.  Tempered or laminated.

Had the same thing happen to me. I used 26 gauge galvanized sheet metal. Granted my dad owned a sheet metal shop at the time so I had all of the metal and tools to do it but it worked great.

Real glass. Yes, I can cut, drill and temper it. If you want laminated it may be a little more.
