Home at last
« on: October 16, 2013, 04:43:44 PM »
Two years ago my wife and I were in the design process on a cabin we were building in the Roslyn area when all of a sudden I found myself with my (archery) bull of a lifetime that was destined for the taxidermist.  We had to scramble to make an important design change to feature him in a prominent location.  I just got him back from Charlie (Bucklucky) and now he has found his permanent home.  The cabin has been finished for a while now but not until the bull showed up was it really complete.  Thanks again, Charlie.  Love the mount! :hello:

Oh, and a couple more finishing touches.  Finally found a practical use for a couple of shed antlers I've collected over the years. :)

Your idea and my idea of a cabin are way different.   That looks more like a lodge!    8)

Beautiful bull and cabin.

Yeah, I was envisioning something a little smaller and less fancy but I let my wife have too much influence and that's what we ended up with.  And she thinks it's too small of a place to retire in.  I told her she can retire at the house and I'll retire at the cabin. :)

I tried to find more pics of the place but most of them are during construction, not the finished product.

This is one of our favorite features, the shower in the master bath.

The kitchen (under construction)

The loft (under construction)

The front (nearing completion)

The back (nearing completion)

I also put in a horseshoe court, a fire pit, and some very low maintenance landscaping that I don't have pics of.  Now it's time to start enjoying the place.  Lots of hunting and fishing in the area. :IBCOOL:

Yeah, remember how I picked that particular mount so it would look right over at my wife's seat on the couch to keep an eye on her?  It's perfect! :chuckle:

By the way, she went out in the garage the day I brought the mount home from your shop and let out a yelp when she saw it in the back of the truck. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Sorry about that.  I guess I moved the folder location for them.  Let's try again.

And as a bonus, here he is in his final hour.
