So a little bit of the story!!!   I was lucky enough to hunt with my dad and uncle again this year starting in the Hamilton Area and targeting elk. Well the elk were not cooperating with the weather pushing 70 and we pulled camp, loaded the horses and headed to another spot. We did see 14 moose with 4 being great bulls ranging from 35-48 inches. The weather hadnt changed so we decided to go high and see if we could find some elk. No luck but did manage to see a few deer with 2 great 160-170 bucks. The next day which was yesterday we go back up high searching for elk to no avail. On the way down we came to a huge canyon with a small creek in the bottom. My dad kicked a good sized rock off the hill and it rolled down and hit the creek. I looked across the canyon and see a deer stairing down the hill towards the noise and immediatly see horns. After about 15 minutes we decide he is a shooter. I took the first shot and missed. My dad then shoots once and also misses. I shoot again and can see him staggering and then goes down. The buck stands back up and just stands there facing us for about 20 minutes. We didnt want to jump him while trying to get a finishing shot so waited him out. He eventually turns broadside and we finished him.  Thats all for now...Hopefully I can get some better field pics posted pretty soon.....

Looks like a great muley Justin, now you have to light a fire under your dad to get his.

hogsniper....that is a killer buck man.  Congrats to ya.  Way to change the strategy and get it done.  I did the whole Elk hunting thing in Hamilton two years ago and it was tough.  Hunted the whole Skalkaho range and the Elk just weren't migrating yet.  Saw some dandy bucks in those units too....just impossible for a non-resi to draw one of those special units.
