800-1000 yards a lot of elk get wounded. that is to far. the shooter is hoping for a kill shot but it does not always happen. mike w
well to be honest there are probably more elk wounded at 100 to 200 yrds than 800 to 1000

if your set up for it, it is plenty doable, its the guys that arent that just hammer away. a couple of us know a guy that whacked a bull at 980yrds and folded it up, it was amazing. he does it quite often. i know with the right set up i could make the shot. but here on the wetside you really dont shoot more than a couple hundred

i cant wait to see more bulls form the watershed.... how long do your guys permit season last for that area
