North or South of town really doesn't matter.  Of course it would be closer south...but either is fine.

I know the regs.  GMU 124 is the "southernmost" GMU that has the late hunt.

I wasn't too sure you knew after the first quote posted above.  It's kind of hard to hunt south of Spokane in unit 124, since it's not there and all.

Yes Mossback91 unit 124 is called the Mount Spokane unit.  That units southern most boundary is the spokane river.  Therefor It would be very hard for bamalefty to hunt south of Spokane since the Spokane river goes through the City of Spokane (East to West).  I was trying to help him out after he made this statement.

Because obviously either north or south of town is not fine.  North is, as that is unit 124.  South is not .
But he knows the Regs so I guess he doesnt need help ;)  Might be worth it for you to just follow him around and collect your 10 points.

Shed, lets don't get ridiculous here!  I don't appreciate that comment.  I was making a joke about not having to drive any further than I needed to.

Don't cut down your fellow posters.  I was simply asking for some advice...not ridicule.

Lets be serious............ you weren't making a joke, or at least it sure didn't come across as one.

I'm just trying to help you out and keep you from making a mistake and hunting a wrong unit.

Jesus man! Everybody knows where the God Dang Gmu boundary's are! Please get back to the subject. :bash:

I'm just like Bama, not sure where to go. I have a paperland permit and was thinking of dropping in south from the Blanchard hump a couple of times this week after work. Does anybody know this area? Is it worth it? :dunno:

There is lots of public land and lots of deer in the Huckleberry unit in Stevens County.

Check out this public lands map.

and this one.

Good luck!

There's deer there, and it can be productive.  Just be ready to have quads zipping down every rd. up there.  A lot of it is cut, and the deer like to hang out in the draws that have small strips of old growth left in them.  If you spend a couple full days out there you should be able to get it done.  There's also the IEP land out of Thompson Creek, that's a little closer and holds quite a few deer as well.

The deer up there are smart to the quads,  you can literally watch them hide or "freeze" sometimes and the quads go right by :chuckle:.  It's a good spot the last week, especially if there is snow.  They'll be chasing the does pretty hard during that second week.

I might be headed into the Huckleberry unit this weekend.  A friend of mine took leave yesterday and as of about 1 pm, he hadn't seen anything.  If not, maybe Chewelah or up around Colville.  I can't decide.
