Lead wire is available from Onlinemetals.com and from Corbin. However, it's expensive. But I could take the 150 lbs. of lead I currently have, sell it at market price and buy lead wire. You can also buy a lead extruding device from Corbin and your own lead, of any degree of hardness, into wire. However, it's an expensive gadget. Plus I want to get away from having to melt lead. I've been told that properly swaged lead bullets, correctly lubricated, even if they are less hard behave like harder lead bullets as they travel down the rifled barrel resulting in less leading. Bullet swaging is an option I'm considering so I'm still in the information gathering phase. I've spoken to the folks at Corbin and read much of their materials. Expensive to start but cheaper and faster in the long run.
