I think I remember reading where Peter Hathaway Capstick (famous elephant cropping officer and author) would pull soft points from live ammo and put them back in backwards so they performed more like a Full metal jacket for big, heavy, deadly game.

Not the article I read, but pretty much the same result.  Also saw a high-speed photo of a Spitzer bullet half way to the target.  At that speed, the air molecules had the tip of the bullet reshaped to a round-nosed bullet...

I was practicing with one of my ARs and round that was a mis-fire and totally jacked the b/c up. It was seriously locked up and it took a hammer to get the charging handle to budge. When I got it apart the primer had blown out of the brass..... No flash hole in the brass.
 The ammo manufactures do make a mistake once in a while.

I would be a little upset if I opened a new box of ammo and the brass looked like that. Either the OP is pulling our leg or someone played a trick on him. I doubt this came from the factory.

Hornady Zombie Max bullets are also a lighter grain. They are critical defense rounds with a different color tip. the pistol rounds that is. I know the box of .308 ammo I had shot well. just a lighter bullet.

The bullets I'm familiar with are the .17, .20, .22, and 450 Bushmaster.  (Actually a pistol .45 bullet)  The V-Max types are a light, fast varmint bullet.  I still can't believe they'd make a special bullet for Zombies!
