All the polymer-tipped bullets are is hollow points with a polymer insert.  If you can find "Zombie" bullets at a good price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them--all they are is the regular bullet with a green insert instead of red or dark red.  I can't picture bullet makers making a special bullet for the "Zombie Craze"...  :dunno:
you sure about that ..? Hornaday SST has a polymer tip ... its not a hollow point ..it a solid base bullet ...or am I misunderstanding what your saying ....Nosler ballistic tips are hollow with a polymer tip !

Not familiar with Hornady SST's  Never used any.  The Hornady V-Max and the Noslers are similar.  The Noslers might be Boat-tails--Can't remember without looking...  :sry:
Just clarifying ...

No problem.  The more you know about reloading, the more you find that you DON'T know!

Hornady Zombie Max bullets are also a lighter grain. They are critical defense rounds with a different color tip. the pistol rounds that is. I know the box of .308 ammo I had shot well. just a lighter bullet.

The bullets I'm familiar with are the .17, .20, .22, and 450 Bushmaster.  (Actually a pistol .45 bullet)  The V-Max types are a light, fast varmint bullet.  I still can't believe they'd make a special bullet for Zombies!  :chuckle:
