They might fit a little tight on your #11 nipple, but they should still work.  I always used the hammer to fully seat the caps anyway.  Quite a few failures to fire were caused by not fully seating the cap on the nipple, and the space absorbed the impact of the hammer.  I even kept that procedure up after I changed over to Musket Caps...  Traditionally, #10 caps were for pistols, and #11 caps were for rifles, but I never could see a big difference in the two.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

 :yeah:

Seat the cap then lower the hammer CAREFULLY and press it down tightly.  You will have a much harder time removing it though without firing.  You will need a knife.

Two problems.... 1. the #10 is slightly smaller than the #11 in diameter.  So as mentioned it will go on the nipple post tighter - which is not all bad at all.  You will need a good brass capper to seat the #10 tightly on the post.  Normally to get it off if you do not shoot it off you will need to use knife blade to pry it off -which is not all bad because you have created an almost perfect water seal all the way around the cap.  Off all things 'Traditions' offers a really good brass #11 capper.  The rear portion of the capper that you load the cap with has a brass extension that allows you to really apply pressure on the cap to seat it properly.  As mentioned if you have a hammer gun you can lower the hammer and push to seat - but I would really try to stay away from that activity as much as possible.

Not a real good picture of the capper but you can get the ideal.

This might show it better

2. Only this probably only applies if you are shooting Triple Seven, both the #10 and the #11 are underpowered for igniting T7 in cold weather.  You will have much better luck using a #11 Mag cap or a RWS  Dynamit Noble 1075+ cap.

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!
