Basically, he said that DNR land does not have to have a physical posting at each area. True of false ?Well in reality the requirement of lands to be posted has been eliminated. When the Discover Pass was created some DNR lands required it and others did not, as a result the legislature required DNR to post those areas it was required. Then the legislature said ALL DNR lands required the pass, so in their mind, why should there be a need to post the lands requiring the pass if all the lands need it?So the DNR Officer you talked to is correct. But what about the no gates rule?

So, are they going to enforce it at all the feeding stations this year? Because last year I was there and only a handful of vehicles had them out of the 200 hundred trying to park there? I seen the volunteers at Oak Creek trying to tell some people about the pass but they weren't to receptive. Lot of money right there.......

Last year there was even a State Park Ranger writing tickets at the feed station. So yes, State Park Rangers writing tickets at WDFW areas, and YES this is legal.
Let me clear up a little misconception here... I was not mad, just didn't realize the WDFW tag was not valid for the area (DNR land) that I was in. I did not know I needed the Discover Pass. What I said was, I knew better relating to the Discovery vs Discover wording, so kindly pointed out. A hard lesson learned on my part.I tried to explain this whole thing to a few different people to save them some $$$ but they argued with me about needing a Discover Pass. I tried, and don't wish the same fate on anyone...So I guess that makes me about even on the discover Pass. The $99 fine is reduced to $59 with proof of pass purchase within 15 days of the citation. The $35 for the pass is actually cheaper than if I would have bought one the last 2 years. I'll buy another one next year because I am not trying to "beat the system" as was pointed out earlier...Happy Hunting to all, and calm down. It's only money...
I'm going to have to spend some time in the regs if I get posted at Lewis. Hunting license $$$Deer/elk/bear...whatever tag $$$want to actually go and hunt - need a pass $$$want to hunt timber - need a pass $$$Fishing $$$Salmon $$$fish a certain area $$$pass for certain area $$$is annoying how you can't just buy your license and tag and go hunt or fish, need two or three add-ons for everything
The pass is great and they get the money in there account. Ass, gas, or grass it take's money and time to build roads, toilet's, patrol and a whole lot of other items that we don't see done. Could be like Texas where most of the property is private and you pay to enter. Time for everyone to look at what we have and maintain it. When my kids use the property they get the same speech and I expect them to share that with the next generation to come along. Public property is all of our home's and we pay to maintain our own home's this is no different.
