2 discover passes now required.
« on: November 19, 2013, 01:08:53 AM »
I took my sons motorcycle riding in Capital forest last weekend.  The DNR officer informed me he could write a citation because my licensed dual sport motorcycle did not have its own Discover Pass.  I showed him the one in my pickup and he told me you need a second pass for all street legal dual sport motorcycles.  I already pay $35.00 a year for license tabs for my bike.  so now i will have to pay $70.00 a year for Discover passes.  I worked it out between license tabs discover passes and hunting and fishing licenses I costs around $600.00 just for the privilage to hunt and fish in this state.

jason stevens that does not work. If you have a haul or tow rig and any other vehicle you must have two discover passes, jeep clubs have been fighting this for some time

Ya it sucks. The discover pass is good for two vehicles. But only ONE VEHICLE AT A TIME. Tow vehicle must display pass as well as the licensed motorcycle. Just another way to get us coming and going.

Your motorcycle or ATV either needs an ORV sticker or a Discover Pass. This is not new. It's always been that way.

What I would do with a street legal bike like that- park your tow vehicle on the shoulder of the county road just outside of the state land.

Then use the same Discover pass that you have in your truck on the motorbike, while you ride on state land. The truck won't need it at that time since you're not parked on state land.

Easy for you to say but you live in a place where it's cool to just hang out in your yard.

We have places over here where we need them, right by the house. My wife buys one every year, but I refuse too. I think I'll go ride around in my newly inspected street legal, licensed plated side x side now.

I bought one and feel it was well worth it- mainly because it seems to be keeping the riff raff out.
