I only buy cameras that take double A batteries, and spend the extra $ on the Energizer lithiums.

Does anyone use a 12V motorcycle or lawnmower battery on their cameras?

No but I think a lawnmower battery is a great idea. I've been meaning to get one and use it with my Moultries. I saw one at Walmart for $30. I have used a deep cycle marine battery that I have for my electric trolling motor. I used it the last two winters and my Moultrie d40 will run forever on it. In the cold weather using the 6 internal D batteries I'd be lucky to get 3 weeks out of it. Of course the downside is that battery weighs close to 100 pounds. I think the lawnmower batteries would be perfect and they're relatively cheap.

Midway has a Browning 6MP camera w/8AA and 32GB SD card capability for $80  Looks like a good deal.  :dunno:

that would be the browning range ops?  that is a really low price, but i recently bought one and have two problems with it.  one is that the pics are almost all fuzzy and blurry, and the review on trailcampro backs this up.  apparently the initial models had really crisp pics but the more recently manufactured ones are fuzzy.  another is that about 70-80% of my daytime photos are in black and white infrared for no apparent reason.

Yup--Browning Range Ops.  Don't know anything about them.  My 2 cameras are Wildgame.  Good pics, but the older camera uses C-batteries, and battery life sucks.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
