21 hours in 3 different stands this past holiday weekend.
a few does at each location but not much movement, only late in the day.
No rut activity observed in Hancock Snoqualmie from Fri-Sunday.

but lots of activity from muzzie road hunters.

Fantastic buck! I'd sure be excited that he showed up. Especially since it's during the day. That doesn't happen very often. Good luck!

Btw, looks like his neck isn't swollen up much, like it probably was a few weeks ago.

what bobcat said, he definatly doesnt look swelled up, maybe he will show up more regularly eating those apples just trying to get his strength back, i know a muture blackie that participates in the rut go through hell, so in order to survive the winter they need to feast a little more often... good luck, hope you connect, he is a stud for sure....

If you had a bunch of green translucent apples instead of those you would have way more action provided they weren't rotten.

Don't know why but they will flock to the soft green apples and walk over red ones to get there.

Best of luck.
Aim small.

He's OLD! Look at the big lump on the top of his head and his hips and ribs are sticking out pretty good. I have a 3 year saga going with this dude. I cannot figure out where he ruts. Here's a pic of him in velvet in August. Only other pic I've ever gotten of him was in velvet August 12' he had the same exact horn shape and mass but he was a 4X4 this year he is a 3X4. Definitely on his way down. I will be in stand this afternoon at 2:30.

I did not know that. I have a few (very few) of those that I may be able to get at.

He came out tonight! Just after dark, I was pinned down in my stand for almost 2 hours after dark waiting for deer to clear out my right foot was frozen! Smart old buck, he came in just after I couldn't see my pins any more than used the thick brush to leave. I was finally covered up in deer tonight, I think if I would have gotten in an hour earlier he may have come down during light I didn't get in my stand until 3:15.

I put an arrow in him tonight. Shot looked just back of perfect but he didn't go down after 30 mins so I backed out.

4 of us going in in the am to recover him, will let you guys know the outcome.

Hopefully you find him ... It is cold enough to not have to worry about anything ...I found a nice buck and his rub line but had to work all week ...so I WENT TODAY AND THE GROUND IS FROZEN  :yike: :bash: :bash: As I was slowly getting to a blind I made I see a doe about 25yrds and all I can see is her head ...this was about 11am when the sun came out ...I tried to look around her when she finally started to leave ...when she got above me I noticed another deer ...Huge bodied and I could see his horns moving threw the brush  :bash: :bash:  So I backed out of there and plan on hunting him tomorrow ... But I know how late season hunting is ...Its either very good or very bad ...Right now it is very bad for me anyways  :bdid:  Hope to see your buck tomorrow
