LAYOUT BLIND...WHICH ONE?
« on: November 26, 2013, 04:46:32 PM »
So im starting to look for a layout blind for field hunting on the eastside. im a bigger guy 6' 260 or so and would like a roomy blind . tired of using my friends x lander. i have narrowed it down to a few and wondered what your thoughts were. the ones i was looking at were. also what do you think about the spring loaded seats? i know the beavertail and FA proguide xl have them or can be added.

I like my final approach..Not that big of a guy though.  I sure wish I could use it more than I do.

FA Pro Guide or SUB in field drab. You've already seen and fit in mine. Just conform!  :chuckle:

I use the tanglefree dead zone right now. The only reason I have it is because it was on sale at Cabelas for $150 with a snow cover. That said- it is a decent blind. Easy enough to assemble in the dark, doesn't compact down too terribly well. For someone your size- I would recommend it. Plenty of room. The construction is a little weak- but I am basing that off of original Final Approach blinds and they were built like tanks. I figure for the price- it will last me four or five years and then I will get a new one.

Why don't you and mfowl go in together on one of those Banded two man gayout blinds? :chuckle:

Someone already gave me a screamin deal on an FA. No need to cozy up with Scott. Besides, he claims enough of my birds as it is, could get out of hand in those close quarters!

Cabelas Ultimate. The waterproof bathtub floor pays for it'self many times over. Great features, great design, roomy and the best padded back rest of any I've crawled into.

Always liked the FA blinds. I go back and forth between my FA Eliminator and my Avery Finisher blind.

I have had quite a few blinds and the most comfy is the FA Pro Guide if you don't have to go to far.  Natural Gear is the ticket.  Gives a great base layer and provides the right shadowing once camoed.  You mud them out anyways typically.  I currently have 4 of these blinds.
