First duck and an Orange Billed Greenhead
« on: November 29, 2013, 11:01:09 PM »
Somehow I talked my girlfriend into duck hunting this morning instead of shopping.  She's been out with me a few times,  but unable to connect until today.  15 minutes into our hunt a trio of Greenheads came in hot.  I shot 1 before they crossed in front of her and she dropped 1 as well.   Her First Bird. and first kill of anything for that matter.  We each got 1 more before calling it a morning.

One of my Birds had a very Orange Bill.  I can't remember ever seeing one that clean and Orange.  Anyone Else?

Hey skybuster, that's very interesting.  I have never seen that on a drake mallard before.  Do you have pictures of the breast of that bird.  Also is there anything else different about it?  Thanks in advance.  John

Hi John,
Unfortunately I didn't take any other pictures of the bird.  I didn't notice anything different other than the bill.  The ducks were "processed" by a first timer while I instructed (and drank beer) so they got pretty mutilated as well.   It wasn't till afterword when I started to think the Orange bill might be rare.  Too late as it is Meat in the Freezer now.

Did you just call me a nird?   Or was it that autocorrect thing that makes you write things you don't Nintendo.

It looked like the white collar was small or not showing in the pic.
