Rear peep sight vs Fiber optic open sights?

I figured this would have been covered in a previous post but my searches on here came up with nothing so I will ask.
What is everyone's opinion and personal experience with having a rear peep vs fiber optic rear sight?
I have the factory fiber optic sights on my Traditions Vortek and I love how crisp and easy to see they are, esp in low light conditions or just in thick timber (where I am primarily at.) The downfall I have had with them is that it is hard for me to aim small at longer distances because the rear sight covers up so much of my target.
My experiences with peep sights are limited. Carried one once but it was iron front and rear and hard for me to see in low light or deep timber.
I have found one truglo peep sight for muzzleloaders on Midway that looks interesting, has fiber optic in both front and rear, and they both are the green. I like and can see the green a lot better than the red. I just hate to spend that kind of money on a sight without hearing some experiences on it. Or how about my factory fiber optic front sight with the iron rear peep?
Any tips here. What do you like more and why?

I like how easy it is to get on target for me using a peep.  I put a Williams on using my original front. 
 The only problem using the original front us sometimes your adjustmenti is maxed out.

Went to the Williams peep this year......I REALLY like it.
 If your this way sometime let me know and you can try it out.

I have Williams peep site's on all my black powder guns. Once you try them and see how they improve your down range accuracy th be sold on them.

I have tried both peeps you mentioned. The truglow one was ok. bigger peep, plus fiberoptics, mean better in low light conditions. Due to the way it needed to be mounted on my gun,(in front of the bolt), I opted for the williams. Which is mounted behind the bolt.

The williams peep hole is much smaller, and seems more accurate, plus better built. Not the best in low light though.

Go peep.  If you get one that has removeable bells (don't they all?), you can get different sized holes for different situations.  When sighting in, I use the smallest hole possible, when walking into or out of an area at dusk (legal time), I pull the bell out and just use the threaded ring as my rear sight.  I figure at low light, I will not be shooting from very far so the loss in accuracy is made up for by the increased ability to see my front sight.  You can also drill them out to get the size you desire if you can't find a stock one.

I plan on definitely witching to a peep for next year. Shot my friends ML with a peep and loved it.

I put a Williams peep on my Knight Bighorn (mounts behind the receiver, closer to your eye), and I love it.  It has tightened up my groups considerably, target acquisition is quicker, and you can see more of the target.  I highly recommend it!

I put a fiber-optic front sight and a rear peep sight on my muzzle loader, mainly because being a carbine, the sights were so close together it was like shooting a pistol.  The only hard part of the peep sight conversion was drilling and tapping a new hole in the tang.  I had plenty of experience at installing hardware, and had drills and taps, so it was no big deal.

I put a Williams peep on the rear and fiber optic on the front with a firesight hood on my knight disc. It's great .

I have the "sabotshooter" setup on my bighorn (peep and front fiberoptic)

I changed the front to a green fiber because it is easier to see in dim light.

My son has a CVA, and he is going to change to a peep.  He has missed 2 deer so far this year with open sights.

I always assumed that open sights give you a better view of the target.  Maybe so, but since I switched to a peep, my accuracy (and confidence in my smoke pole) has gone way up.  I would never go back to open sights except for backup sights.

I recently picked up a #4 Hunting Disk from Merit (http://www.meritcorporation.com/products.html).  I like being able to adjust the aperture for available light conditions and increased accuracy at the range.

I have also used the unscrew the aperture and use the threaded hole as a ghost ring method.  While closing in on an elk I decided that there was enough light to use the smaller aperture but dropped it while trying to screw it in.  I did that standing on the top of a skree slope and never saw that aperture again.  I have also been out on a morning hunt and realized that I never put the aperture back in after the last evening hunt.  That is more a problem with my brain rather than the peep sight.

I do want to add a fiber optic front site for even better low light performance.
