Quick question... Is Coyote hunting better or worse in this cold weather? Thinking about heading east for the day and freezing my butt off but wanted to know if it was worth it. Thanks for your input guys!

Colder the better. It's pretty hard to dig for vermin when the ground is hard. So they travel a lot more looking for food.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I went out yesterday, and saw one coyote.  It was bitter cold and breezy.  I can stand the cold, but not the WIND and cold, therefore I didn't do any stands.  I got out of the rig a few times to blow the howler, but most of my hunting was from the rig.  :chuckle:

I saw two yesterday out in the middle of the day within view of the highway.  One was in a faceoff with a doe at about 150 yds.  He changed his mind and went back into the brush.  The other was on top of a hill about 600 yds off the road.

only way to do it I think. there pelts are prime and furry, they are hungry, since there are not a lot of critters running around, so they are easier to call in. though it is freaking cold so just wear layers, because you will be sitting a lot. but worth it. I only hunt them for their pelts Nov-Jan.
im just a country boy..hunting with hounds and training horses.

As others have said it's generally better. Try to pick a day when it's not windy. If using a mouth blown call remember when your done calling, reverse the call and blow to re move excessive moisture, nad keep the call inside your coat to help prevent freezing.

We don't have any Coyotes on the east side……... :chuckle: :chuckle:
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." So what your saying is that this summer you need to bring your bronco over so we can paint it snow camo, and hook your FoxPro up to a pa speaker in the front of the rig  for you? :chuckle: :chuckle:

Sounds like a plan!  I'm getting to the age where walking, even under the best conditions, isn't very appealing...  :chuckle:
