Knight Bighorn?

I am considering this Rifle for deer.  On the Knight website it says it comes with the 209 primer, isn't this illegal in Washington?  Does it come with a conversion kit?  What is the consistent range of this rifle?

Mine came with a conversion kit. I just got mine this fall it only took about three shots to get it dialed in on a bench, once I got the right bullet weight. Mine doesn't like the powerbelt 348 gr. slugs. I went with the Knight 310 gr. works awesome. It took me a lot more shots to get used to the offhand shooting, I am not used to the weight because I normally archery hunt. In fact I may not ever hunt muzzle loader again to short of season.

 I have a the same gun, and it came with the different breech plugs to change the ingition. I have mine set up for musket caps and shoot T7 loose powder. Like it was said these guns ,in my experiance dont like the Powerbelts. I shoot the 310 Knights out of one and  Precision Bullets out of the other, both are very accurate. Might want to consider upgrading to a peep sight as well. Just make sure that when you change the plugs to get a good coat of lube on the threads and then just snug them up.

I'd hold off on buying anything until they figure out what the new regs are going to be.  Hopefully they increase the MZ seasons in this state, they are just too short to justify it in my opinion.

I bought a Bighorn a few weeks ago and at first I was disappointed with it because the accuracy with sabots was unacceptable.  But after talking to their costumer service they sent me, free of charge, about 80 of their looser fitting orange sabots and lead bullets.  That fixed the accuracy problem.  So far it’s just a range toy but I might hunt with it some day. 

It came with all three primer systems (209, musket cap, #11).  It also came with both fiber optic and standard sights.  I believe they kit them that way to be legal in all states.

As for range, it is plenty accurate at 100 yards, haven’t tried it beyond that.

I love mine, and have shot it since I was 12 (9 years). It is the most comfortable to carry and shoot of any muzzleloader I have held. And it shoots great (three inch groups at 100). For open sights, that is tough to beat. I shoot the knight bullets with 110 gr of Triple 7. Anything more and it is innacurrate as hell, but I had good success with 90 gr when I was younger.

I'm new to BP I got my Big Horn this spring and have been playing with it all summer. I have 2 1/2 in group at 100yds using 300gr QT bullets and 110grs of Pyrodex pellets. I had never shot a ML before in my life and it was very easy to learn and get use to.

Knight Rifles modified the Bolt ( Its Called "the Western Kit") to make it legal in WA and exposing the Cap to the Elements They do it for FREE!!!! It takes the old #11, Muskets or can have 209 if you change the Bolt back.

 Its the New .52 Caliber and It is sweet!!  I Upgraded from a .50 Bighorn to .52 for the long range. My family hunts in Iowa where muzzle loaders are like Modern rifles out here on the west side. They can have scopes and my cousin swears he hits 300 yds with 18 inches hold over.  I can say that I have hit the 200 yd target at Clark County GC with my peep sights but I can hardly see the Dam target.  I will let any one come shoot this thing so they can see the difference of the Calibers!!!  I really liked my Bighorn but now it just sits in the Safe......

i was eyeballing this ML as well recently when internet shopping.  if i pick one up in the near future ill let ya know what i think.  still indecisive as to what to get but reasearching is half the fun isnt it ?
