gun for antelope?

.243 in 80gr would be my choice, but again whatever youre more comfortable shooting.

25-06 is a better choice for long range shots than a 243.

Don't overthink an antelope gun.  You don't have to shoot them at 600 yards.  The majority of mine have been killed at under 200.

They are easy to kill.  Many goats die each year from .22-250s and .220 Swifts.

Either gun is fine.  Any bullet is fine.  Keep in mind that a ballistic tip type bullet will ruin more of the precious little meat on an antelope if you hit a shoulder.

They are fantastic table fare.

I agree either one will work just fine, but I'd go with the 25-06 just because it has a little more horsepower behind it. Better for those 300+ yard shots. But again, either one will work and the antelope surely won't be able to tell the difference.

Splitshot,   I used a .25-06 with a 120 grain Hornady HP since 1985.   It's dropped a fair amount of antelope for me.   I use a BDC scope and range finder.

You mean Wyoming antelope in general?  It varies unit to unit.  Some you can draw as a non-resident every year, others will take 6+ years, largely depending on perceived trophy potential and access to public land.  You can find the draw percentages for each unit on Wyoming's website.

With respect to the original post, all things being equal in terms of comfort and preference, the 25-06 shoots longer and flatter, which can come in handy. That being said, I've taken six antelope, none of which were over 250 yards.
