Huntnphool, thanks for the assistance offer, I will keep in touch.

wastickslinger, the big boys must be hiding, I seen lots of horney little bucks trailing the does. I watched a group of 4 does and one weak 4x3 pass by, and every couple minutes a buck or two would trace their same path.

Them big suckers hide very well out there. You would think that with it being a draw unit only that you would see the big bucks all the time. It atually would is a fairly difficult unit to hunt for the real big bucks. Those big bucks have some sneaky spots to hide. They should be out following does here ina few weeks. I usually start going out there to look around in Mid-November. I will let you know what I am seeing.

Wea300mag. Here is an example of how it will change just in case you are getting an itchy trigger. Believe me it is worth the wait. First picture and second picture is November and it was like that the whole month I was out. Third picture is December. . . He lived by the way.

No problem. I figured you seeing that buck would keep your finger off the trigger for a few more weeks.  ;) I will be focusing on my late archery in teanaway through the first couple days in December. After that it will be day after day in the desert taking pictures, watching where the big boys are hanging out to snipe a few sheds and smoke a yoter or two. I will keep you posted and try to help you out if I can. When are you coming this way next?

I am off to MT for two weeks. I hope that it will be one week so I can come back here and get serious about the raffle tag. If I do get to come home early, I will spend time in the Desert Unit and the Methow.

I spent a little time out in the woods this weekend. I'm hoping for 2-3 feet of snow in the next week or two. As long as I can drive over to E WA on the North Cascades Hwy it's not a good sign. I did find a few bucks who stopped and let me take their picture. There were several others that didn't want their pic taken. I saw a 3pt chasing two does through Winthrop, the tourists were highly amused.

I'd like to see this guy in about 3 years. He looked like a young deer.

I'm not sure what this guy was doing in my mule deer area.

Here are some others.

Keep taking pics, and shoot him on Dec 31 please.  Its more fun for us.  I haven't seen much worth your while yet.  Well, maybe I shouldn't say that, I've seen some good bucks, but I would hold out for something like Slider posted on here while you were gone.  That thing was incredible.  The Methow is going to bomb for you unless some of this whitestuff hits the ground.  I was up to about 6,000 feet this weekend to get a Christmas tree.  THATS a bad sign.  That last buck from the Desert would get that tag notched if it was in my pocket.  WHAT are YOUR expecctations anyway.  Did you say 170 or bust, r wht are you after.  Sort of your minimal goal.  Woud ou have tagged that 28 incher I posted?  Buck seried IV I think.

I realize the entertainment factor but I will have ulcers if I have to wait until Dec 31. Garrett and his dad provided plenty of suspense last year. I would definitely let the air out of the Desert buck that wastickslinger posted. I'm not the best at field scoring bucks. I'm just looking for the right combination of spread, mass, and tine length. I haven't seen the pic of the 28 incher. I will have to find it.

Love the pics. So how did you do in Montana? Two weeks, you should have seen several nice ones.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!
