Dan congrats on a hell of a hunt. We talked early so i dont need to repeat my self. But just hold your head up high man. you did the best you could do and had a blast doing it. When you look back on this hunt in a few weeks you will smile.  You probably arent going to want to look at deer for a few months though:)  have a good night man

you gave it one hell of a go 300, i bet you looking foward too sleeping in your own bed.

it was  great  to see all the  supoort from every one on here. people draggin sleds over, taking days of work to scout, i'm guessing evey one that had honey hole sent 300 into it. great work boys. I don't log on at home much with this dial up but i have been every night for the last couple of weeks. i hate too see it end.

I have question??Is the raffle tag a 2nd deer tag???? If so did Dan shoot a deer with his regular season tag??? I would  be much easier to hold out to the last day knowing i had a freezer full of deer all ready

Yes it is.

Congratulations 300, you set a standard and stuck to it.  You worked your tail off and should be proud.  Before it gets stale and you're back in the swing of regular life, you should frame that tag with a bunch of your buck photos around it.  Years later, I bet you'll be WAY more stoked looking back on the bucks you passed than compromising your standard for something less than your goal.  You've also given a whole bunch of hunters a sweet three week ride.  I sent the link to this thread to my hunting buddies in AZ who were absolutely stoked reading the updates and seeing the comraderie of Hunt-WA members.  There's people all over who are raising a glass tonight in your honor.

I've been reading this thread every night and keeping my dad updated with your hunt.  It is to bad you didn't get that once in a life time buck.  It is very impressive that you didn't' lower your standards.

Good effort. There's no way my family could do without me that many days out hunting in a row. At least not this year. Hope you had a great time!

WDFW should make this thread (at least Dan's posts) mandatory reading for every Master Hunter applicant.  This is what hunting & sportsmanship is all about.  Congratulations and thank you for letting us ride along.

No, it is not a second tag...the raffle draw just gives you permission to use the single tag you already have or eventually purchase after you win the raffle.

page 71 in the Regs says "The winner of the deer and elk raffle may purchase an additional tag/license" so yes he could.
