I'd use whatever 3 inch load you want in size 2 to 4.  Like lead, you might want to use the bigger shot size for late season roosters that are jumpy.

 :yeah:
I've been shooting west side pheasants for several years now with whatever loads I had left over from duck hunting. The same loads I liked for ducks seemed to do best on the pheasants. 2 and 3/4 inch in my 2 favorite guns.

I did have a couple boxes of "Expert" #4 that worked ok on pheas at close range, but too many fringe hits at longer range. I didn't like them for ducks either. Used them up on pheasants because they're usually closer/easier to kill.

Have used up to #2 successfully. I actually like the bigger sizes more than I thought I would. More quick kills at longer ranges. And not so many pellets in the meat. Most of the are "pass throughs"
Charlie Kirk didn't speak hate, they hated what he said. Don't get it twisted.

I love shooting #2s.  But I shoot 3".  Get great penatration with minimal cripples.  This year I purchased heavy metal 3" #2s in 1.25oz dram.  1500fps.  Love the stuff. Works great on geese too.

I personally won't shoot the hypersonic loads. Shot a gun for years and years with no problem. Bought those and after the first box went to change my choke and it was fused to the barrel. It won't come out for nothin. Have to order a new barrel which will cost me 230 thanks to the safe speed of hypersonic with no extra pressure scam. Anyways 3 or 4 shot hevi metal in 3 or 3.5 in. Awesome knockdown power.
Good luck
