Spanaway area lakes
« on: December 26, 2013, 11:05:25 AM »
Was thinking of taking my nephew out lake (bank) fishing for trout tomorrow in the Spanaway/Graham area and thought I'd see if anyone has any suggestions.

I'm leaning towards Kapowsin, but figure there's also Spanaway Lake and a few others. Thoughts?

Spanaway  has some hogs in it. Kapowsin  is good to especially at the south end or at the public launch under the power lines
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"

Spanaways good for trout. Best place is to go just to the right of the boathouse to where the cement sidewalk starts. Follow that untill the sidewalk sticks out ato a point and launch straight out to the left right there. Theres a big deep hole and the rainbows looovee it there. Seen a few german browns pulled out of there also. Few and far between though, theyre big bullies.
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

American Lake has kokanee and triploids, with a few hold over wild rainbow as well.

Latest report I heard was Spanaway was doing good off the bank or dock. Use a worm and marshmallow with about 3' of leader. They said fish were up to 2 lbs.
