Can someone tell me if hunting porcupines is legal.  I'm looking for a real answer.  Hopefully someone could quote me an actual written rule.

Totally legal,unclassified,some feel but it is not a rule that porcupines are to be left for emergency consumption only,like if you get lost and need something to eat.they are slow and easy to kill with just a stick.but totally legal to hunt.when i was a kid back east i used to hunt them all the time,cook them up just like a chicken with some seasoning.hunting them in the winter months will put a green in the meat when you cook it up though lol.(pine needles main diet in the winter months)

Yes, they are unclassified wildlife. Hunt year around.

To hunt unclassified wildlife, you need a valid big game or small game license. You can hunt unclassified wildlife year round with no bag limit and with any weapon. For instance, you can legally hunt unclassified wildlife with an air rifle.

Some even more    There are a few certain drainage areas that "give" me 6-10 porkys a year each and they all have extra long tri-colored guard hairs

This is from last month. This guy sure gave us a scare, thank goodness I had a 10 round mag of .308!
