Favorite species to run with hounds

I'd say Cougar.   Love the disgraced look on their face when you catch them.    I see so many bear, that's not nearly as exciting for me.

Yep, I don't need dogs to find bear but its is alot more to me to tree a cat. Bear leave a garbage trail of scent, where a cat leaves nothing. I got to say my favorite races so far are those old melted out cat tracks on a south facing slope, very rewarding for me to catch them

   They all leave plenty of scent for good dogs. A  good mean bear that won't tree and bays up is hard to beat.   Lions are the easiest to catch,  short stamina and  usually fearless of dogs.  I just wish living in this state I had to worry about what I was going to run tomorrow.

I picked bobcat, nothin against big cats and I ain't being big headed, but big cats were to easy, bobcat put up a tougher trail for the most part, I still loved freeing big cats but back then you had to have a permit . And i also loved the beety eyes of Bob nustled up in a big ole fir

Bears mainly but like bobcats too. Nothing like a mean bear to see what your dogs will do. And bobcats because there are some that like to throw ya a curve ball and do some crazy things

Cougar for sure ...bears are way more easier to find without hounds than a cougar ....its all fun though

Mine is elk! nothing harder  for the dogs and seeing a big 6x6 ten foot up a pecker pole pine is like nothing else
