I wish you luck with this, really I do. I tried them twice and had horrible luck a few years ago. The guides showed up hours late, fishing was awful and I had one of my tires flattened. I wound up using a guide out of Forks after that and had great luck for years. Maybe it was just my bad luck with bad guides on the Quinault.

A kid I went to school with does alot of guide trips on the lower Quinault and has a good name going for him. My cousin and uncle did a trip with him weekend before last and were on fish all day. They caught several nice steelhead both days and the biggest they kept was 18 lbs. Even caught a couple dozen nice cutthroat and some late coho.
He did a trip with Hawg Quest last year too.
This page should have everything to get ahold of him.  http://hawgquest.com/myblog/quinault-river-guide-shawn-johnstone/
If your after the elusive and legendary 20+ pound iron head, your not gonna find a better place.  :twocents:

It was too many years ago for me to remember the name sorry. It was two different years in a row. There probably are many good success stories from there, just not for me and my partner. It was very frustrating at the time and then to find the valve stem backed out on my tire made me decide never to go back again.

There are some great guides you wont go wrong with for sure.
At the top is Clay Butler. He has had health issues the last year but he is back here and there. Almost impossible to get a date with unless your a reoccuring customer. But worth a try.

Robert Thomas and Ruben Estavillo, my cousin are both top notch. Tandy Charlie is a legend on that river. Fred Eastman is also top notch as is Richie Underwood.

These are all guides that show up on time and have the river mastered. You wont be dissapointed with any of these.

Its a great time for Monsters as the Lake hatchery broodstock fish are comming right now thru the end of the month.

Dont bother with a Cook creek guide IMO ;)

Anyone know if Robbin Rhodes still guides? Haven't talked to him in a few years, and it seems like he was more into crabbing. Was a great guide while he did it.
Charlie Kirk didn't speak hate, they hated what he said. Don't get it twisted.

Robin does still guide. He does own a crabber now too but when he gets time off he runs trips. The tribe is nearing the end of there 40 head start on the Coyboys and will be moving the pots north soon. After that they soak a little longer which gets a few more days to run trips on the river.
