I have had bulls at 3 and 4 yards.  If they are movin slow, it is a tough thing to seal the deal.  Lots of fun though.
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

I have to be honest (with you, and with myself); had I been the hunter in that situation--and not just because I am right-handed--I would either have not been able to shoot (too sudden...), or have shot the bull in the near fore shoulder.  I don't think I would have done very well at all.

What a video!

:yeah: Bulls I have called in the closest I have not closed the deal on. Not sure due to choking- usually it involves brush.

I'm not sure why people think this is a 'High fence' or ranch. Just because there was a large tractor tire for a makeshift water hole doesn't make it ranch. I've seen man-made water holes on State, Federal, BLM, and open to public, privately own, Forest land. Most are built by cattle ranchers leasing the property.

Regardless of where it was, I thought the fact that the guy just about got run over by the elk was the cool part. I hope hope to experience some up close encounters like some of you have talked about.
