First time hunter looking for a good area to go bow hunting
« on: January 22, 2014, 03:29:50 PM »
I have been looking for people to hunt with for years but things never work out so im just going to go and try.  I haven't been in Washington long so don't know a good area to go.  I was thinking about tiger mountain but not sure if its good or not any advice is appreciated and if somebody wants to show me how its done that would be even better.  thanks in advance for your time

would not spend too much time on Tiger mt. lots better places to hunt although there are some animals there . what never works out with the guys you have hunted with ?where do you come frome and how old are you . what would be your longest shot at a animal ? how many critters have you harvested ?

Im wanting to hunt deer  i have only shot bows at targets so far i have shot coyotes and rabbits but not much else.   When looking for other hunting partners the timing never lines up between our scheduels

We used to take deer off the so. Side I 90 aprox exit 38 and alll along that stretch yrs ago. I. Would think there would still be quite a few there. Lots of leg work behind the gates  also. Down along the river   Work at lots of practice  while you are scouting take your bow arrows with judo heads and shoot thick brush piles. If you have a fast new style bow you have to be extra careful at what you are shooting at for your arrows sake. Join a archery club and also washington state bowhunters   Your goal   One shot kills. Never loose a animal Good luck

Since it sounds like you need advice.  Use 10x binos or spoting scope on a pod. early a m. But  also all through the day then mark there trails find a pattern ground hunt or tree stand both are effective use calls. Rattling also works on blacktails.
