Front sight options for a rear peep?

So I am getting a williams rear peep sight for my Traditions Vortek and I was originally planning on just using the factory front sight that came on it (williams fiber optic). The thing is the fiber optic on the front sight broke out and the screw is stripped (had a tough last day of season this year). I was wondering what eveyone likes as far as front sights for peeps. Since I have to do some work on the front sight I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to try something else as well. I really want to stick with a fiber optic for the front because of low light conditions and thick brush hunting. I like the idea of going to a small front sight to be a little more precise. I am just having an issue finding ones to fit my gun. Would it be pretty simple just to get new fiber optic material for the existing front sight? Anyone know where I can get just a single front sight screw? I have tried contacting Traditons but only via email, have not had a chance to call during their business hours. Any tips with peep sights in general esp when it comes to the front sight. If I get a new front sight is it normally better to get a taller, mid range, or lower to the barrel front sight for a rear peep? I assume that all matters more with how high my peep is and where my eye lines up on it but any insight would be appreciated.

I had a Williams Firesight and a rear peep tang-type sight on my muzzleloader, and the red fiber-optic front sight was great!  Be sure to put a larger aperture peep sight on it for hunting.  The small aperture peep is good for target shooting, but not very good for fast-acquisition or low light hunting situations....

You may look at skinner sights website. Go to front sights and scroll to the bottom of the page. I have two of his rear peeps on my bl22 and 338mxlr. Low profile and well made. Going to sell my williams peep on here shortly. You may look up either marples or lyman for the diameter of your other question about replacing the one you broke. Good luck.

Sweet, thanks everyone. Quite a few of my questions could be solved if I just had simple access to my gun. My safe stays at my folks place a half hour away since we are in a small appartment and dont have the space

Good luck!  Some sights have lengths of light pipe material you can replace and even change the color.  Others have a raised shoulder on the light pipes to hold them in.  A guy I know broke the fiber-optic light pipe on his Ruger 45-70 rifle, and had to get a replacement from Ruger...
