coyotes down
« on: February 16, 2014, 09:54:56 PM »
I thought id share some results from the last 3hunts.  This first yote came flying into our first stand if the morning.  7am sharp.  He almost got away.  I watched him come in as he had his eyes locked in on the fox jack.  My shot gun was on my lap and as I put the remote down on my lap it made the slightest contact with my shot gun and be for I knew it I had pup distress blasting because of fox bang and he did a 180 and off he went unfortunately for him I was quicker and put him down with my Remington 12 gauge with #4 buck.  The second coyote was taken on our 3rd stand.  We used some howls and had some call back.  They didn't come in so we went after them and got behind them and started off with some distress at a low vole.  This one came in quick and I didst catch until my friend said coyote!!  Comming in fast. That day I had my rifle and a shotgun.   My rifle was on a bi pod and was sitting over top my shotgun.   Before we knew it he was up two little knoll and staring us in the face!  I wasn't Evan about to try and get the shotgun off my lap,  void thing my friend was on him and he dropped him with his 223   at around  25 ya rs.  In the background you can see a bush we were using to conceal us.  My last hunt was fun but no fur down. I locked my keys in the the car after our first stand we were going to try our next spot we I realized I'm screwed!  Thanks to my friends wife who packednthe kids up to bring me a spare key,  she said well have fun I'm going home.  I missed a first yote running about 350 yards out  and I barely missed.  Next one my zero stops didn't work and my elevation got all jacked up so when my friend tryed to shoot it he missed and was like 4 high.  We ended up sighting in the rifle after that and sure enough it was 3' high at 100yards.  Good times
