Check your optic batteries!!!
« on: February 26, 2014, 09:46:09 AM »
UGH, even if the illuminated reticle still works, PLEASE replace the bateries in your illuminated optics every 6 months. The battery in my Mark 4 CQT leaked..thankfully the module is replaceable.

Alkaline batteries leak. I have heard that Lithium is not as bad...so I will be using Lithium from now on.

if igs a two-legged predator weapon, I would add to have a backup sighting system,  such as a green laser or a flip up iron sight.

Yes, batteries leak, Especially if you leave the unit turned on, and the battery runs down.  The nice thing about my Burris scope with the lighted reticle is that it shuts itself off after 1 hour.  Perfect for absent-minded guys like me!  Also, the nice thing about the Leupold CQB scopes I have is that even if the battery goes dead, you still have the circle-dot reticle.  not like some scopes/sight devices that rely completely on battery power.  :twocents:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

this weapon already has backup irons...also the reticle works without illumination.

Not a fan of visible light lasers...IR is your friend!!
