Here's a couple more pics of the same buck.  The size of his horns kind of makes his body look real small.  I'm heading back over there in the morning to try and find him again.  If I get some new shots of him, I'll post them on Monday when I get back.  Thanks again for all the positive comments, I'll keep posting as long as I don't get a lot of garbage or putdowns due to where the shots are taken or the bucks live.  To me a good buck is a good buck, no matter where he lives.  I don't want to argue about  the merits of a buck because of where he lives or the merits of Nikon versus Canon.  Everybody knows Nikon's better.  ;)

I haven't seen any complaints, debates or criticism on anything yet. Keep posting. We love the pictures regardless if a Canon or a Nikon took the picture.

I have read the studies on what conditions must be met in order for deer to grow hugh antlers.The first would be nutrition and bitter brush(sage)provides good amounts of protein but this buck is eating alfalfa,no doubt.Next would be not being chased around by predators and disturbances by humans.Seeing how its a town buck it has been raised there and is totally used to humans and likely to never being taken by a hunter.This buck would likely be great on the wall but lousy on the dinner table.I have eaten bitterbrush bucks and they are really strong in the flavor dept. as my wife  wouldn't let me cook it inside the house.I hunted in Oregon (North Powder)about 20 years ago for elk and seen lots of big mule deer bucks.The elk I took was tasty but they were grazing on alfalfa with most of the deer up in the sage.They were probably going down on the hay fields during the nights.Even then the deer permits were only available by draw so good luck on getting any Oregon buck without a pocket full of greenbacks and drawing on a private ranch.Fees are running over $10k for trophy bucks and you can double that for elk.

In  your post you only mentioned nutrition, you neglected to mention genes as this is a big role player.

Looked for him Friday afternoon did not find him. Talked to a guy who found him Friday evening. He still had both antlers. Saturday morning this is what I saw.
