Well done, maybe try a Cuomo compliant AR next. :chuckle:

Just one thing I think it needs--a Winter Trigger Guard.  I harp on this all the time, but I can't help it.  That straight trigger guard on the AR15/M16 Rifle is the worst design flaw on a gun I have ever seen, except for the Paterson Colt revolver, which had no trigger guard at all.  :twocents:

I love the winter trigger guards too. They look really nice. I put them on all my AR builds.

Is there any particular brand or style of winter trigger guard that would be better than another?

There are a couple of different styles=Magpul and some others make the curved, streamlined ones, and Rock River and YHM make deeper ones, but not as good looking.  I personally prefer the RRA/YHM style, but they both work.  You won't notice the difference in how they work regardless of which one you choose.

What it costs to build one is like asking "How big is a dog?"  the only part that must be bought through an FFL is the serialized stripped lower.  the rest of the parts can be bought online, and you can spend as much or little as you want.

BUT, if you are looking strictly at the cost, you will be better off buying an off-the-shelf AR 15.  It might not be exactly what you want, but being a modular gun, you can change anything as the money comes available...  :twocents:
